Group Session Beginner Class

    Classes run for 5 weeks. Registration for classes is on going, please request to
    be on the waiting list.  

    The beginner class is $ 225.00 plus supply fee (fluctuates precious metals and
    US Dollar conversion rates but usually not more than $60)

    Saturday class is $ 275.00 plus supply fee (see above)

    Private class is $ 300.00 plus supply fee (see above)

Beginner Classes 

Evening Class fee is $ 225.00 (plus supplies fee) runs for 5 weeks
Visa, MasterCard, American Express, E-Transfer or cash can be accepted. Payment must be made no later than the first class.  

Supplies fee (normally around $60) is required at least 2 weeks before class so that your supplies are here for your first class. 

Space is limited so reserve your spot in class early. 


First Session Beginner Class - New students will learn the basics of metalsmithing. You will design pendants, pins or earrings and complete at least one project using copper. If time permits, second session topics, listed below, may be added. Use of class tools and some basic materials will be provided. 

There will be a supply fee of approximately $ 60.00 (subject to current metals pricing) for this class. The purchase of additional supplies may be required based upon your own personal design choices and if time allows for additional projects.  


Second Session Class - Basic bezel settings - Continuing students will learn how to create bezel settings. Soldering skills will be covered and you will complete at least one project in Sterling silver. Additional projects may be added if time permits. Use of class tools and some basic materials will be provided. The purchase of additional items may be required based upon your own personal design choices. 

There will be a supply fee of approximately $ 60.00 for this class. The purchase of additional items may be required based upon your own personal design choices.  


Third Session Class - Basic rings - Continuing students will learn to make a basic band ring and add a basic stone setting.
Soldering skills will refined and you will complete at least one project in Sterling silver.  Additional projects may be added if time permits.

There will be a supply fee of approximately $ 60.00 for this class.  The purchase of additional items may be required based upon your own personal design choices.

Fourth Session Class - Rolling Mill Textures Continuing students will learn to emboss textures into metal using a rolling mill. Students will explore the textures that different items such as leaves, paper stencils and fabric can create on the surface of metal. Students will create earrings and a pendant if time allows. 

There will be a supply fee of approximately $ 60.00 for this class. The purchase of additional items may be required based upon your own personal design choices.  

Fifth Session Class - Chasing & Repousse - Continuing students will learn about the tools and techniques involved and create at least one jewelry item while refining their other skills. Students are encouraged to use their own creativity and begin designing their own unique work. Projects can be provided for those who’s creative juices need more time to flow. 

The class fee will cover the use of tools and other equipment in class. 

There will be a supply fee of approximately $ 60.00 for this class. The purchase of additional items may be required based upon your own personal design choices. 

Sixth Session Class - Wax carving for casting - Continuing students will learn the basics of creating a wax model to be used in the lost wax casting process.  In class, we will carve a wax ring model that will be sent to a foundry for casting in Sterling silver.  A pendant or earring project will be added if time allows.  All models must be completed by class 4 to allow time for casting & finishing of each piece.

The class fee will cover the use of tools and other equipment in class.

There will be a supply fee of approximately $ 40.00 and the student will be required to pay the casting and metals fees for their particular creations. 

Open Studio - Students who have completed all 6 beginner sessions or have demonstrated intermediate skill level are eligible to rent studio space on an hourly basis.  Payment for studio time is required at the beginning of each open studio session. The open studio session fee is $ 50.00 per hour and should be scheduled in advance.

The studio fee covers the use of tools and other equipment.

Open studio for returning students' will have topics added as projects are completed or as interest warrants. 

Metal supplies can be purchased or ordered through class or participants may use their own.  No metal supplies are included with this class. 


Private Classes are now available 

Private sessions run for five weeks, the same as group classes but you are the only student. This allows you to progress at your own pace without having to wait or catch up with other students. 

The class fee is $300.00 for 5 weeks.  Supply fees will vary depending on individual student progress and interest.
